| Description: |
Armstrong Atlantic State University, located
in Savannah, GA, currently seeks a Manager
of Web Communications. This position within
the Office of Marketing & Communications
is responsible for managing the high-level
public content, organization, and structure
of the university website. This position
will manage and ensure timely, relevant,
and current content for the university's
public Web presence (currently being re-built)
to advance the university's marketing
communications strategies. Efforts should
be made to integrate new technologies
and multimedia throughout the site. In
addition, the position will serve as a
key liaison with other university personnel
and web development resources facilitating
the development of academic and administrative
department-specific university web sites
as well as managing the network Content
Management System in collaboration with
university IT staff.
This position will coordinate and produce
communications regarding the activities
and services of the university, including
news and events postings on the website
homepage. It will establish, plan, and
direct implementation of the core content,
user interface standards, design guidelines,
page design standards, as well as site
management policies and procedures. This
position will also maintain and guide
ongoing development of high-level content,
design standards, information architecture
and interface, web-client standards, web-based
database access resources, web-authoring
support systems (CMS) and related procedures
and documentation.

| Qualifications: |
Bachelor's Degree in communications, public
relations, marketing, journalism, information
technology or related field, plus three
or more years' professional experience
in information design, content management,
web development and technical project
leadership. Experience in the creation
of quality design and content for the
web is required (experience managing web
navigation preferred). Applicant must
provide a portfolio and/or site references
for web development work. Strong oral
and written communication skills are required
as well as strong grammatical and editing
skills. Excellent ability to write, speak
and use images to clearly and persuasively
communicate in technical and non-technical
subjects with both technical and non-technical
audiences preferred. Applicant must possess
strong initiative and self-starting approach,
and ability to operate effectively in
a climate of rapid growth and change,
as well as being capable of working to
deadlines. Conversant in general with
Macromedia, Adobe and Microsoft software,
including web-based database access technologies
and web analytics measurements, and experience
working with Google Analytics desired.
Must be capable of integrating technical
skills and strategies with business needs
analysis and strategic thinking about
communications; have project management
and organizational skills with the ability
to work in a team environment in situations
in which ambiguity and multiple priorities
are likely; and have experience working
with web content management tools, specifically
Expression Engine, as well as large scale
web sites and database systems. Experience
in the higher education sector is a plus,
as well as proven effectiveness and ease
in a multi-cultural environment.
